How to Pick a SUP board that is right for you...

A regular longboard usually runs in the 9 to 10 foot range. An average multi-purpose SUP board will be much bigger: 11 or 12 feet long, 29-31 inches wide, and 4 to 5 inches thick. Most importantly is the rider's weight, but most experienced SUPers agree that a board in the 11-12 foot range is a good place to begin. This size board will float riders that range from fairly small (including kids) to 240 pound adults. Lighter riders, say in the 140 pound range, can get away with a smaller board, one in the range of 9 to 11 feet long and 4 inches thick. A board of this size would also work in the surf for a more advanced rider. Generally, a shorter board is for a lighter rider or one with more advanced skills. The same board may work in different ways for different riders. Call 1-800-671-9905 for Sales, Rentals and Lessons - we provide equipment advice as well visit us at www.MauiB.com

Just like the Magic Model, the SUP Walden is very loose and stable. The step rail design really makes for a great turning SUP Board. The inlayed deck pad is comfortable on your feet and gives great traction. I've rode mine in all types of surf conditions from 1'-6' in New Smyrna Beach FL. You won't be disapointed with this SUP board!

Rode the Bonga Perkins 10' SUP today. This is a high performance board and it rides like a regular high performance long board. Bottom turns are excellent. This is a advanced wave rider not recommended for beginners. The board has a step deck which puts the volume right in the center of the board where you need it. This requires a little bit of a closer stance than regular wider boards but the step deck enhances the performance by leaps and bounds over the regular rails on wider boards. Highly recommended for advanced SUP surfers...

Sunday 2pm

New Smyrna Beach today 3 to 4 ft waves... Fair...
